My information has changed. How do I update my account?

To update any of your information (e-mail address, mailing address, organization information, etc.), log in to your account, and click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page. To update your organization's information (for those users who have an organization connected to their account that have admin access), click on the "Org Details" tab.

Please note: If you change your e-mail address in the "My Account" tab, your OneStar account log in will automatically be changed to the updated e-mail address.

What is the Organizational Profile and for what is it used?

The Organizational Profile is a brief survey for organizations connected on OneStarFoundation.org. It creates a "snapshot" of your organization's basic information.

By completing the Organizational Profile, you will be eligible to receive notification of opportunities, such as:

  • Organizational excellence scholarships to build the capacity of your organization, including organizational assessments, trainings, consulting, conferences and other professional development activities,
  • Funding announcements and events related to national service and volunteerism and
  • Chances to participate in important research on the needs and trends of the social sector and its stakeholders.

The Organizational Profile only takes a few minutes to complete. And remember, even if you have received grants or scholarships from OneStar in the past, a completed Profile is required for future opportunity eligibility. All information that is collected is for the exclusive use of OneStar Foundation and will be kept confidential.

How do I access the Organizational Profile?

If you have created an account, connected an organization and would like to complete the Organizational Profile, log in to your account, click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page to get to your account area and click on the "Org Profile" tab.

What is an Organization Connection?

In addition to the valuable resources about the social sector available to individuals with accounts on OneStarFoundation.org, OneStar also offers individuals affiliated with eligible organizations the ability to connect their organization(s) to their accounts. Connecting your organization grants you access to even more resources on our Web site, including trainings, tools and events to build the capacity of your organization.

OneStar invites you to connect your organization to your account if it meets any of the following criteria:

  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Faith-based organizations
  • Organizations currently administering a grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service OR
  • Organizations that are interested in applying for AmeriCorps State funds through OneStar Foundation

Connecting an organization to your account requires you to provide your organization's Employer Identification Number (EIN). An EIN, also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number, this unique number used to identify your corporation or business entity for tax purposes. OneStar requires the EIN of your organization because it is a unique number that will allow OneStar to effectively keep track of the information you provide and communicate with you. All information that is collected is for the exclusive use of OneStar Foundation, will be kept confidential and is for the purpose of researching the social sector in Texas.

How do I add an Organization Connection to my account?

To add an Organization Connection to your existing account, you must log in. After you log in, click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page, then click on the "My Organizations" tab. Click on the "Add an Organization" link on the right of your screen. You can add as many Organization Connections as you would like.

How do I add someone to my Organization Connection?

You can connect others to your organization on OneStarFoundation.org.

There are two ways to add someone to your Organization Connection:

  1. Invite someone to create an account - If you are an Administrator of your Organization Connection, log in to your account, click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page, then click on the "Org Members" tab. After that , click on the "Invite New Member" link at the top right of the page. Fill out all the required information and an e-mail will be sent to that person. After they have created an account, they will be invited to connect to your organization.
  2. Approve a request - If others have attempted to connect an organization that already exists on OneStarFoundation.org, they can request to be added to that existing Organization Connection. The request will be sent to the Administrator(s) of the existing Organization Connection, who can either approve or deny the request. Individuals whose requests are approved by an Administrator will automatically be connected to your organization on OneStarFoundation.org.

Once someone has been added to your Organization Connection, their name will appear in the "Members" list in the "Org Members" tab of your account. They will be able to view any information that you have entered for your organization (including information in the "Org Details" and  "Org Profile" tabs).

If you would like any of your organization's members on OneStarFoundation.org to be able to edit your organization's information, you must upgrade them from "Staff" to an "Admin." To do this, click on the "Org Members" tab in your account area to see a list of users connected to your organization. Then click on the "Upgrade" option next to the name of the member that you are promoting to Administrator for your organization. You may upgrade as many members of your organization to Admin as you like. If at any time you would like to remove Admin privileges from a member of your organization, simply click on the "Downgrade" option next to that member's name.

How do I delete someone from my Organization Connection?

Only an individual designated as an organization's Administrator can delete someone from their organization's connection.

If you are an Administrator, log in to your Account, click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page, then click on the "Org Members" tab. There, you will see a list of users who are connected to your organization. Click on the "Delete" option next to the name of the person you would like to disconnect from your organization.
