Strengthening Nonprofit Organizations through Effective Engagement of Volunteers and Other Community Resources

Presenter: Sarah Jane Rehnborg, Associate Director for Planning and Development, RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service

Who: This seminar is for executive directors and senior leaders of nonprofits working with or looking to work with volunteers. Staff and board teams are strongly encouraged.

Description: This seminar will address how volunteers and other community resources can be involved and engaged in organizational success. During this full-day seminar, participants will learn how to set the stage for volunteer involvement, break down the barriers to a successful volunteer program, locate available public sector resources, learn to design a plan to maximize volunteer and community involvement and much more. Sarah Jane Rehnborg serves as Associate Director for Planning and Development at the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service and lecturer at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. She received her bachelor's degree from Denison University and her master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining the RGK Center, Rehnborg was Director of Community Engagement for the Charles A. Dana Center at UT-Austin. She served as a consultant to the Texas Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service, where she was the architect of the first state plan to bring national service funding to Texas.
