Community of Service
By becoming a Community of Service you will join communities large and small across Texas in recognizing service as a strategy to meet urgent needs in your community.

Texas Communities of Service Summit
OneStar Foundation works to ensure that service and volunteerism are integrated as viable strategies for addressing needs of Texas. We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the Texas Communities of Service Summit for all Texas Cities of Service AND Texas Communities of Service.
About the Texas Communities of Service Summit
The purpose of the Texas Communities of Service Summit is to create and support a statewide network of cities and communities in Texas that are committed to enhancing volunteer engagement. The summit will provide each delegation with the knowledge, skills and resources needed to develop a comprehensive service plan and a coordinated strategy for volunteer generation in each of their communities. Our intent is to serve as a resource and to support you in your commitment and pledge to the declaration of service.
Who Should Attend?
Each city or community should bring a delegation of 3 to 4 people to the summit, including the following:
- Mayor or Executive Official
- Staff Member representing Mayor/ Executive official and/or Chief Service Officer
- A representative from a local Volunteer Connector Organization (i.e. Volunteer Center)
- A Community representative that strongly supports service and volunteerism. (i.e. United Way, Local Funder, Chamber, Corporate Volunteer Program, Volunteer Using Organization)
Cost
There is no registration fee for this event. OneStar Foundation will provide lodging for each individual. Need-based scholarships for transportation will be made available.

Dates and Location
Currently, the summit is scheduled to take place in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, September 21st and Wednesday, September 22nd.
Attendance Nominations
