Offered for experienced mentoring professionals seeking advanced knowledge, the institute is an intensive week of examining the latest developments in theory and research on youth mentoring and discussing its implications for mentoring program policies and practices.

Seminars will be led by nationally-recognized research fellows David DuBois of the University of Illinois-Chicago, Janis Kupersmidt of iRT, Michael Nakkula of the University of Pennsylvania and Andrea Taylor of Temple University. Guest speakers will include Gail Manza of MENTOR, Carla Herrera of Public/Private Ventures, Harold Briggs of Portland State University and Michael Karcher of the University of Texas-San Antonio. The director of the Summer Institute is Thomas Keller, the Duncan and Cindy Campbell Professor for Children, Youth, and Families with an Emphasis on Mentoring at Portland State University.
