If you are frustrated and dissatisfied with the traditional approach to strategic planning, you are in good company. Corporate and nonprofit leaders are finding that the old model of strategic planning may cost organizations more than it contributes - and, often gets in the way of real work. David LaPiana, founder and principal of LaPiana Associates, and author of The Nonprofit Strategy Revolution, will introduce us to Real-Time Strategic Planning, a methodology that engages participants, addresses the Big Questions facing the organization, and creates an atmosphere where strategic thinking and action flourish. The session will help participants:
- Articulate an organizational identity based on scope, competitive advantage and market conditions
- Use formal and informal market research techniques to gather and analyze intelligence
- Develop a strategy screen that allows you to set out criteria for strategic decisions
- Provide an array of simple but powerful tools to use as you continue to identify and respond to strategic challenges
All participants will receive a copy of LaPiana's book The Nonprofit Strategy Revolution, complete with CD containing the necessary tools for conducting your own revolution.
