Most nonprofits missions could never be accomplished without volunteers. They bring energy, fresh ideas, resources and good old hard work to the table. Because they are so valuable, volunteer leadership programs should impeccable. Participants in this workshop will learn:

  • Common mistakes made by those who manage non-paid staff members.
  • How to avoid big blunders.
  • Techniques for creating volunteer programs that thrive.

Presenter Karen Holloman has 19 years of professional experience in the Houston nonprofit arena. Since 2000, she has served at Christian Community Service Center (CCSC), an award-winning coalition of 44 churches united to serve the poor, hungry, disabled and otherwise needy in central Houston. Last year, the organization successfully engaged more than 1,900 volunteers.
