Designed for both novice and experienced grantseekers, the Grantsmanship Training Program is a comprehensive, hands-on workshop that covers researching funding sources and writing and reviewing real proposals. The program will teach you to use The Grantsmanship Center's proposal writing format, the most widely used in the world. During the workshop you will search out funding sources and, as part of a team, you will develop a proposal for your own agency or help a classmate develop one. You will leave this workshop with new skills and the ability to apply those skills to the needs of your own organization. The workshop agenda combines instruction and practical exercises to take you step-by-step through all the stages of a grant proposal. In the first part of the workshop you will learn to develop and critique proposal components. You will also serve as a panelist, evaluating a proposal brought to class by a participant. Your own proposal may be included in this review.
In the second part of the workshop you will study funding sources - federal, state, foundation and corporate - using a variety of reference materials available online and at the workshop site. Then, in a small working group, you will prepare a complete proposal, identify likely funding sources, present your proposal for review and receive feedback from the trainer and your fellow participants.
Membership is included in your tuition. Upon completion of training, you will receive a one-year membership package, which includes a proposal review, access to our comprehensive funding databases, tuition discounts and other special benefits and services. In addition, you may participate in the online Forum, which provides funding tips and technical assistance to thousands of alumni.
