This Foundation Center webinar is geared strictly toward representatives from either community groups without nonprofit status or new nonprofits with very little to no grantseeking experience. It will focus specifically on foundation fundraising, and will provide participants with a step-by-step approach to help them assess their organization's foundation fundraising readiness. Participants will learn answers to questions such as: What groundwork must be in place before approaching foundations for funding? What are the steps to obtaining incorporation and nonprofit status, and where can an organization find help during the process? What are the characteristics of successful nonprofits? The one-hour broadcast begins promptly at 1:00 p.m., Central Standard Time; plan to stay after the group viewing to participate in a question and answer session with a United Way staff member.
